I had the privilege to spend a weekend at Cara & Owen’s cottage in Muskoka & shoot one the most epic engagement session. If you haven’t seen their gorgeous sunrise engagement session – click here. Spending that extra time with them gave me a chance to get to know them a lot more intimately than I normally would with other couples & capturing their wedding felt more personal to me. Bruce (Cara’s father) candid nature & honesty about how he felt about his daughter getting married was truly touching & left me almost in tears during certain parts of their day. Cara is a spirited, fun & outgoing personality, while Owen is quiet, gentle & kind (& hilarious after a few glasses of wine).
We all constantly worry about having the most perfect dress, the perfect ceremony, the perfect hair – but sometimes I love a good unplanned, unfiltered moment. The highlight for me was definitely when Cara’s veil was about to fly off her head & she literally laughed all the way down the aisle toward her sweetheart. Owen kept it cool & casually watched her walk towards him, while the rest of their family & friends had a good chuckle.
Thank Cara & Owen for having me. I had amazing time with you, your family & your friends. xo.
